What is Education for Ministry?
Our faith draws us into ministry. Education for Ministry (EfM) is a four-year course that gathers participants into small, guided groups and provides framework for our lives and actions as people of faith. EfM groups meet in person and online, and work towards an informed, reflective, and articulate laity.
Education for Ministry classes begin in the Fall. Lay-persons will tackle the challenging and nuanced task of experiencing the fullness of the church’s faith within the complicated world in which we live. They can expect a theologically-based education, that supports faith and fosters connections to their daily lives. The EfM program investigates the “how” in the question, “How can we faithfully carry out our ministries?”
To explore this faith opportunity, please contact Deacon Tim Spannaus for further information.
Education for Ministry (EfM) was developed by the School of Theology in Sewanee, Tennessee to help people who have questions about their faith. For more information about the program and its structure, visit the EfM homepage through the School of Theology. Click here.
Watch this short video from the class of 2020-21 as they answer the question, “Why would you encourage people to participate in EfM?”
